Avoid Deadly Architect Mistakes in PoE 2 | U4GM Guide - Glico - 23-07-2026 I burned two sets learning that the Grand Architect does not really check your damage first; it checks whether you panic when the floor becomes hostile. I had already spent on Path of Exile 2 Currency for small build upgrades, then threw attempts away by rolling through beams instead of reading the arena. Bring damage, sure, but this fight gets dramatically cheaper once your movement stops being reactive. Read the octagon before you start DPS The four Aether Crystals in the north, south, east, and west are not decoration. Until the final phase, they are your emergency line-of-sight tools against the wide laser patterns. I prefer beginning near the southern half of the room, not glued to a crystal. That gives enough space to see the boss teleport center, while keeping both side portals and the north platform visible. Players who hug the edge usually lose track of the next safe lane. When the blue floor grid appears, do not treat it like a normal dodge check. The glowing lines become sustained Aether Beams after roughly two seconds, and frantic movement is what catches people. Find the nearest diamond-shaped gap, move to its middle, then stop. A lot of deaths happen because players keep making tiny corrections after reaching safety and clip a line with their hitbox. 1. Move into one diamond, not toward the boss during grid beams. 2. Save rolls for bad entry angles, not routine repositioning. 3. Keep the camera and character away from the arena's extreme edges. The shield intermission is a build check, but not only a DPS check At 75% and 25%, the Architect becomes invulnerable on the northern platform while Constructs channel from east and west. Melee builds should commit to one Construct, usually west first, kill it cleanly, then cross over. Trying to split damage while eating projectiles is slower than it looks. Leap Slam, Roll, or any reliable gap closer matters more here than squeezing in another marginal damage support. Ranged characters have the easier angle: stand in the southern quadrant and use pierce, chaining, or wide area spells to pressure both Constructs. The catch is greed. If your projectiles are not actually hitting both targets consistently, pick one and finish it. Half-killing both while their small shots stack around you is a very common failed intermission. What changes below 15% health The last stretch is where otherwise solid attempts collapse. The Architect destroys every Aether Crystal, so the old cover plan is gone permanently. Expect fast lightning volleys with poor or absent telegraphs, plus shock pressure that can turn a manageable hit into a flask-draining mess. This is the phase where a tanky mapping setup can feel worse than a build with slightly lower damage but cleaner movement and shock mitigation. Use the Topaz Flask early for lightning mitigation rather than waiting until you are nearly dead. When it is close to expiring, rotate into Granite for the physical shockwave pressure. Keep an instant life flask for a real health emergency after shock, not for topping off minor damage. If upgrades have emptied your stash, buying cheap POE 2 Exalted Orbs for a proper flask or resistance fix is usually smarter than repeatedly funding more failed entries. |
